Despite good progress, an expectant mum in Malawi has a 50 times higher risk of dying in pregnancy or childbirth compared to a woman in the UK. Pregnancy Twinning 1000 has been working to improve this since 2011, where ‘Mother Buddies’ support vulnerable expectant mums to give birth safely.

For example, at least £12 from a £17 Card purchase will be donated to the programme in Malawi to help another mum have a safe pregnancy and birth.

The funds raised go to improve male partner involvement in pregnancy and birth for expectant Mums in Malawi. The programme (IMPACT) has been shown to significantly increase male partner involvement, and this makes a huge difference in ensuring a safe pregnancy and birth!
